Grand River Michigan Steelhead Fishing

Steelhead fishing on the Grand River just below 6th street dam was great all lastt week up until Friday 3/27/09. Most of the fish that were at the dam push up through the fish ladder. We did see a few small Steelhead caught but most of the fish being caught were Suckers and Walleye.

Guys sucker fishing at the Johnson Park Launch were hammering the fish. SOemthign to consider if your looking for a good time for your kids. There should be plenty more Steelhead to come . It’s a bitter later in the run on the Grand River but by no means is it over.

We are still booking Steelhead fishing trips for the Grand River for the next two weeks. We start our grand river steelhead fishing in November. Keep us in mind.

Grand River walleye fishing trips

The Grand River in May and June is a sleeper walleye spot. I have to say it’s one of the most unique places to fish. I’ve fished rivers just like the Grand River in several different states and it’s like no other. The Grand River isn’t the big fish spot that’s for sure. Even though we catch a few fish around ten most of the fish er a18 to 22 inches. The great thing about fishing the grand river is there is always lots of action. Â

Even when the walleye bite isn’t going great we are usually catching soemething. There are plenty of large mouth bass. We often catch succers, catfish perch, whitebass , norhtern pike. You name it we have catch one of everything on trips. Needless to say it’s usually eventful. If yoru thinking about a fishing charter onthe grand we hope you consider us. Grand River Steelhead Fishing Charters

Hit it right and the Steelhead numbers right down town Grand Rapids are through the roof. Once the Steelhead enter the Grand River from Lake Michigan they don’t stop until the hit the area near the 6th street dam. The mile stretch of river holds unbelievable numbers of Steelhead for this reason. Most of the fishing trips we run on the Grand River for Steelhead consist of float fishing with spawn. This is the number one way to catch Steelhead trout in the grand river. When you hit it right 50 fish trips is not uncommon.

We offer start trips for 5Â and hours but check out or 150 dollar special. If your interested in information or just have questions about fishing the Grand River leave a comment on this post.
